Autodesk Sets Sights On Construction, Architecture And Engineering Sectors In Kenya

Not long ago, architecture, construction and engineering involved using pencil and paper to formulate ideas. Today, with the continued and fast growth pace in technology, there are software’s that can be able to formulate ones’ ideas without the tedious use of a pencil, paper, ruler and all that is encompassed within these fields of study.

Autodesk is one of these software’s. It is a global leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment. AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Infraworks, Autodesk Fusion 360, and many more software’s offered by Autodesk.

With development being on the rise in Kenya, as part of achieving vision 2030, the software company is looking to reinforce its presence in Kenya. This is no surprise as one of the biggest growth in the world by 2050 will be more experienced in the African region. The construction, architecture, engineering, infrastructure among other related industries are the main stakeholders.

Sustainable development is at the core of most developing nations mandate. This requires innovation and optimization to be able to achieve a countries goals. This is where Autodesk is inclined towards making things which will be relevant and achieve the sustainability goal in future.

In ensuring active engagement with the market, Autodesk is holding a one-day event, dubbed Autodesk Live, at the InterContinental Hotel in Nairobi in collaboration with Ideate, the main distributor for Autodesk software in Africa. The event is designed to provide a platform for dialogue with customers, developers and other stakeholders exploring trends in Trends in the construction industry, specifically, the Building Information Modelling (BIM), intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure.

Autodesk Channel Manager Africa, Simon Bromfield in a statement said “Kenya’s reputation as a regional leader in technological innovation makes it an important market for Autodesk, and this has informed our renewed focus on the region. A wide range of our products are already in use in the construction and engineering fields. We look forward to working closely with the government, education sector and other partners to roll out the best in 3D design as well as software for diverse industries.”

Through Autodesk Foundation, the company has been able to support Kenyan companies such as Gearbox and Strauss Energy.
