Kenya Airways has recently unveiled two new lounges, Simba lounge and Pride lounge at its new Terminal 1A at the Jomo Kenyatta International. The two lounges, which sit on the second floor of the terminal, are exclusive to Premier World passengers as well as passengers from the airline’s Sky Team partners. The lounges are spacious and are African contemporary themed in design.
This development is most timely as it comes at a time when Kenya Airways is rolling out a fleet renewal programme, and is also getting recognition for quality of service. This year, Kenya Airways was named Africa’s Leading Airline in the Business Class category of World Travel Awards 2014, for the second year running. It was also named amongst the top 10 most improved airlines globally in the World Airline Awards 2014.
As Kenya Airways’ Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mbuvi Ngunze said the unveiling ceremony, “these modern lounges are the best airport lounges and are at par with the world’s best. They will perfectly complement the state-of-the-art aircraft that we are acquiring as part of our fleet renewal programme, thus delivering an unmatched experience to guests from start to finish,”.
Pride Lounge features a circular layout overlooking the air side. It has a cigar room, piped music, a kiddy zone and a dining/working area. Simba lounge on features a smoking zone, family lounge, business experience center, piped music, washrooms and showers, noise proof quiet zone and a dining/working area.
