Who can apply for this course?

People in financial professions with an interest in financial journalism qualified journalist with a mind to venture into financial journalism, government officials who work with public policy, Mid-career journalists who would like to venture out into financial journalism and NGO & civil society professionals with interests in communication, economic and financial data. The recruitment efforts will consider ethnic and gender diversity, as well as professional ethics.

Where will the course be offered?

Leading faculty from the University of Nairobi’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication and Strathmore Business School in Kenya; Rhodes University’s School of Journalism and Media Studies in South Africa; the University of Lagos’s Department of Mass Communication and the Pan Atlantic University’s Lagos Business School in Nigeria will be tasked with developing and delivering this unique training program that will combine instruction in public policy, business, journalism as well as capital markets and data.

The 6 month certificate program is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies with additional support from Ford Foundation and the graduates of this training will be well equipped to make a greater contribution to citizens, public officials and investors, and to transparency, governance and accountability.
