As you may well be aware by now, Janet Kanini Ikua who we have seen a lot of on TV is ailing and has since traveled to India for treatment. Janet is a staff member at Nation Media Group and the most recent we has seen her is on the property show N-Soko, an informative show that airs on NTV.
In April of this year, Janet was diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis – a condition that resulted in blood clots in her legs. Blood clots were later to be found in her heart and pulmonary artery, and these caused her to be hospitalized a second time as a matter of emergency.
With these conditions, Janet and her husband George Ikua decided to travel to India to seek more advanced medical intervention. While there, she was unfortunately diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the lungs, which had spread to her lymph nodes and abdomen.
Cancer treatment as we all know is not cheap rarely does anyone face the financial burden that comes with it alone. Janet is no exception and she needs all the help she can get in order to get back on the road to recovery. Her good friends, family, and colleagues at Nation Media are planning to come to her aid with a fund raising concert to be held at Carnivore grounds Nairobi starting 12 noon to 6.00pm.
How can you as an individual help Janet overcome her ailments? By purchasing a ticket and attending the fund raising concert which will feature among others King Kaka, Wahu, Nameless, Willy Paul, Sauti Sol, Elani, Octopizzo and Kaligraph. The concert will be hosted by comedian Churchill. See the full list of artists here where you can also buy tickets for the concert.
An adult ticket will cost you Kshs.1,000/- and Kshs.500/- for a child.
