The current drought affecting arid and semi arid regions of the country has since been declared a national disaster by Government, with Isiolo county being one among the 13 most affected areas. Isiolo has a population of about 150,000 and about 40% are affected by drought.

Kenyan individuals and corporates alike have never shied away from helping their fellow Kenyans in time of need and one of the companies helping affected households in Isiolo is Tecno Mobile. The Tecno team in partnership with Action Aid and the National Drought Management Authority were in in Daaba area to distribute food to at least 420 households. Each household got food to last them a month, and additionally, the women got sanitary kits with pads, soap and lotions.
This project which has seen Tecno give goods worth Ksh.2M is made possible by every Kenyan who has bought a Tecno Camon CX or Camon CX air since the two phones launched. With every purchase of any of these devices, Tecno sets aside 1 USD towards these donations.
