As we go through the month of Ramadan, it is important to see that even the less fortunate people in society are able to observe the holy month with joy, hope and peace of mind. It with this in mind that QNET donated foodstuffs to the Tree House Children in Ruaraka, Nairobi. These foodstuffs included rice, beans, maize flour, cooking oil and soft drinks. The donation cost QNET over 4,500 USD.

This was not just done in Nairobi, but in also in all the other countries where the company operates. In Senegal, Cameroon, Tanzania, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Ghana, QNET donated foodstuffs, toiletries and money to orphanages, Muslim communities, educational charities and the charity offices of Chief Imams.

QNET is an award-winning e-commerce business with headquarters in Hong Kong, but otherwise operating in more than 25 countries globally. Last year, the company won the CSR award from the Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility West Africa under the category ‘E-commerce CSR company of the year’ due to its activities in helping people in need.

As QNET’s Regional General Manager for sub-Saharan Africa Biram Fall said when commenting on the QNET Ramadan CSR this year, “QNET has been consistent over the years. It is indeed a very meaningful, heart-warming and fulfilling initiative for QNET. It empowers people, demonstrates love to communities and is also inspiring for our staff and our Independent Representatives, as they become personally involved in enriching the lives of others. Our business objective is all about creating opportunities for people, making lives better and empowering people to help them live an absolute life. We call that Absolute living.”

QNET has a long running philosophy dubbed RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) – a philosophy of helping the less fortunate in society. RYTHM works by organizing annual campaigns to conduct humanitarian activities, and to give necessities such as food, drinks, financial assistance for education.

Tree House Children’s home administrator Nicholas Omondi was grateful for the donation and said that it would go a long way in feeding the 56 children at the center, as well as providing other needs. “We thank QNET for this generous donation and call on other companies to emulate this gesture in line with the spirit of charity and empowerment. The donation will help this facility meet its numerous daily requirements; we remain indebted”. He added.
