Safari Ya Wasanii – A Celebration Of Kenyan Artists As Part Of #TwendeTukiuke

by Femme Staff

This festive season we’re up for some good entertainment as Safaricom marks its 20 years with the Safari ya Wasanii concert. Other than the entertainment part, this concert is also a renewal of Safaricom’s continued commitment to Kenyan artists since inception in October 2000. It will also bring back memories and performances of Kenya’s most well-known names in the entertainment industry.

When you think about it, Safaricom has been very heavily involved in uplifting the creative industry. Some of the most memorable areas it has been involved in are Niko na Safaricom Live, Kenya Live, Twaweza Live, BLAZE Summits, Groove Awards for Gospel Artists, and my favourite, Safaricom Jazz. These are just a few.

The 90 minute Safari Ya Wasanii concert will be a journey through all this, and will feature well known names like Khaligraph Jones, Mercy Masika, Eric Omondi, Wyre, Redsan, Juacali, Nairobi Horns Project, Juliani, DJ D-Lite, DJ Joe Mfalme, Mbusih, Njugush and radio presenter Mbusih among others. It will be aired as a two-part series on YouTube and a local TV station on 26th and 31st December 2020 at 8:00 PM.

The show is part of the brand campaign dubbed “TwendeTukiuke’ a callout to go beyond what is thought possible.

“In the past two decades, Safaricom has supported and transformed the lives of many artists’ in the creative industry in Kenya. The show will serve as a reminder of where we have come from as a company and the artists’ who have been on the journey with us and helped us communicate with our customers through music and other forms of art,”Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.

This is quite a timely concert. See you there and let’s celebrate local talent together over the festive season.
