The Infinix Hot 10T – My User Experience And Review

Earlier this month, Infinix Mobility launched the Infinix Hot 10T in the Kenyan market. I have been using the phone since then and I feel I can now do a review based on my experience, even as I continue using the phone and discovering other features here and there.

If we may start from what you expect to find in the box, the package comes with the phone, some literature, pin ejector, earphones, power adaptor and USB cable. There is also a free screen protector and a back cover.

I was pleasantry surprised when I opened the box and found what I consider to be one of the best phone covers especially for being non intrusive. I’ve used this kind of cover before on a different phone and I’ve been wondering why they don’t make them anymore. The cover in question is of course custom made and fits the phone like a glove. It is a crystal clear firm plastic that only covers the back, and then takes onto the corners snugly.  The cover fits so sleekly that you only know it is there because you put it there. Thank you Infinix for this.

Onto the rest of the phone.

There are several colours to this phone but mine came in an interesting and unique colour called Morandi Green. The back is uncluttered, with just the camera housing, fingerprint scanner and the Infinix branding.  It also textured and this, combined with the colour, gives the phone premium look. On the left side of the phone is only the SIM tray while the power button and volume rockers are on the right. The microphone, speaker, charging port and jack are all at the bottom, leaving the top nice and clear.

The battery on the Infinix Hot 10T is an impressive 5000mAh. I have been using phones with this battery size for a bit now and I’ve found that they are able to carry me through a day of full use. I’m speaking as a heavy user who uses her phone for work, photography, videography, movies and series, and a game here and there. I also work from WiFi quite a bit and so I tend to tether my phone a lot. All this takes a toll on the battery and yet I’m covered on most days without needing a recharge. I do however need to charge every day and that’s fine.

The Infinix Hot 10 T has a 48MP camera at the back, supported by a 2 MP depth camera, with an Artificial Intelligent lens. It also features the powerful nightscape camera which is one of the best features of the phone. It is quite clearly among the best in its class and price range. Selfie lovers, which is almost everyone these days, have an 8MP camera at the front, and this comes with AI settings to take the best photos of yourself.

Have a look at some photos I took with the nightscape feature in Kisumu.

A quick look at the some features in summary:

  • Display: 6.82 Inches, 720*1640 Pixels Resolution
  • Platform: Android 11
  • Memory: 128GB 4GB RAM
  • Main Camera: 48 MP Wide + 2MP Depth
  • Selfie Camera: 8MP
  • USB: Type-C
  • Battery: 5000 mAh
  • Security: Rear mounted fingerprint, PIN, Password

Some more photos I took with the phone, but this time in daylight and dusk.

For the price of around Ksh.15,000/- this is certainly a worthy purchase. It is a good midrange phone.
