The Infinix Note 10 Pro was launched into the country last month and I have had a review gadget with me since then. It has been a pleasant experience using it and I’m happy to experience Infinix continued improvement to their gadgets. Here are my thoughts on the phone.

My piece came in a beautiful shiny purple and is quite a looker as a first impression. The back of the phone has a combination of two designs, bottom half being textured and the top half being plain. Due to its glossy finish, the phone is quite a fingerprint magnet and although I can do without that, I can also live with it.

The power button is on the right of the phone and comes combined with fingerprint scanner. The volume button which is on the right next to the fingerprint scanner is just one which combines up and down volume, and the Sim tray is on the top left side of the phone. This clever design gives the phone a beautiful minimalistic look and yet still keeps all the quick features within reach.

The phone is quite present in terms of weight especially for me since I’m coming from a lighter phone, but it is not so heavy as to be a bother. Quite comfortable actually and within a few days, I got used to it.

Remember when phones were slow and would lag and freeze when using multiple apps? Times when we could not even think of gaming because of the amount of speed it requires to power a smooth gaming experience? Those days are becoming a thing of the past as phone manufacturers up their game in processor speed.

The Infinix Note 10 Pro which runs on Android 11 has an efficiency focused G95 processor. It packs a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio chip, supported by two powerful Arm Cortex-A76 processors cores plus six Cortex-A55 efficiency-focused processors. This combination of technology is a guarantee for a super-fast phone capable of seamless multitasking, and one that offers a very smooth and enjoyable experience to gaming enthusiasts.

We have a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate, features that are very good for speedy operations on phone. Touch sampling rate is the speed at which the screen becomes aware of touch.

With 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, speed of performance is quite enhanced, and I do not see myself running out of space any time soon. And I’m speaking from a point where I use storage quite a bit to save movies, series, plus lots of photos and videos.

The phone comes with multiple security options so that users can choose between face unlock, PIN, Password and fingerprint. The fingerprint which is quite easy to set up is side mounted and as mentioned earlier, the scanner doubles up as the power button. This is the first time I’m using a side mounted fingerprint scanner and I actually find it interesting because one, it does not interfere with the look of the phone at the back and two, I’m using my thumb as opposed to my index finger which is what I use on other phones.

The back camera on the Infinix Note 10 Pro is 64MP Quad, with the support of an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP Monochrome and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is 16MP with LED flash. With these, users are assured of clear photos even at night, especially with the phone’s Ultra Night Mode feature. Video has inbuilt enhancement like auto-blur video shooting and video stabilization. In these days that video is becoming very popular, this is the way to go for phones.

The cameras also have additional features and settings to make the best of photography. We have AR shot, timelapse, beauty, panorama, slow motion, ultra-steady mode, portrait mode and super night mode. With these features users get very decent photos and videos be their for memories or for sharing on social media.

The Infinix Note 10 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery but what made me really appreciate it more is the 33W fast charging capabilities. I’m really glad that phones that we used to charge almost overnight and slowly becoming a thing of the past. Charging is via USB Type-C port.

In just slightly over half an hour, the phone will charge from zero to around 50%. So, if for instance you are running out of power and have only 10 minutes to spare, you can get enough charge to run you through several hours. Uninterrupted power is what a good phone should be, and the Infinix Note 10 Pro is it.

Infinix is upgrading phones rapidly with every new launch and the Note 10 Pro is no exception. For Ksh29,999/- I feel that this is a good phone at a good price point.
