itel Super 26 Ultra Redefines Affordable Smartphone Design

Last weekend, my colleagues and I went to Machakos for the launch of the new itel Super 26 Ultra. The event brought together traders, media, tech lovers, itel’s loyal users and some curious passersby who were attracted by the pomp and excitement at the launch.

itel has spent years making reliable yet affordable phones that people trust, especially in markets like ours here in Kenya. The new Super 26 Ultra feels like a big step forward, and is designed for people who want style and durability without spending a fortune. Curved phones always have an air of class around them and that is the itel Super 26 Ultra – premium curved AMOLED display that is bright, smooth, and beautiful from every angle. We got to interact with it and it one of those phones you pick up, and it instantly feels more expensive than it is.

The Super 26 Ultra has already made waves in the tech space, earning recognition as the No.1 Recommended Curved Display Phone under $175 at the TechTrends AI Forum. The award highlights how itel continues to deliver premium experiences at an accessible price point, offering consumers flagship features without andn still remaining pocket friendly. For a smartphone in this price segment, the achievement reinforces itel’s growing reputation for great innovation and value for money.

Under the hood, the Super 26 Ultra is not holding back. It has a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display as mentioned above, with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling through apps or videos feel very smooth. People may underestimate the importance of a good refresh rate but the fact is, the screen is the one thing we interact with the most and a good refresh rate is what gives us a good experience.

With a massive 6000mAh battery, it comfortably lasts the whole day without needing a recharge. I like that they’ve added Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and IP65 splash resistance because life happens, and not every day is sunshine. The phone has been put through some very rigorous tests including drop tests, and we shall be discussing these in a separate article.

I also got to play around with the AI features, and they’re actually quite useful! The photo editor automatically brightens and organizes pictures, while the AI Camera Eraser removes random objects from your shots. Circle to Search is handy when you want to find something online without moving to browsers to search. And then there’s Sola, the AI assistant, who’s always ready to help with reminders and quick tasks. It’s a smart companion that makes your phone feel more personal and I can’t wait to interact more when I get the device for review.

What stood out for me was how balanced this phone is. It is really slim but at the same time sturdy, simply designed but very beautiful and stylish, and itel managed to have so many features at an affordable price. It is modern enough for one to have for years without feeling left behind by technology. It is a great device meant for the younger people and whether you’re a student, creator, or professional, it fits right in with your lifestyle.

iTel puts a lot of heatat into their products and this was no exception. They understand what their users need and keep improving with every release.

I will be doing a comprehensive review once I interact more with the devide.
