I&M Shinda Millioni winners demonstrate how consistent saving builds financial growth, stability, and life-changing opportunities.
The just concluded I&M Bank’s Shinda Millioni competition has transformed how Kenyans understand and approach saving, not as an uncomfortable chore but as a fun empowering activity. The Shinda Millioni campaign has been rewarding customers for consistent saving, hence turning a simple financial discipline into a possibility for winnings and real life impact. By participating more, customers increased their chances of bagging substancial amounts in cash prizes, with an ultimate prize of Ksh. 1 million.
Shinda Millioni’s structure is one to encourage regular deposits, so that every contribution adds entries to weekly and monthly draws. This way, the competition has created a direct link between the saving and tangible rewards. This approach makes saving measurable and one can see the fruits of their efforts. It also addresses a broader challenge in Kenya, where many people struggle to maintain a consistent savings routine despite understanding its importance.
Dorcas Wanga, a poultry farmer from Mumias, opened a Solo Biz Account at I&M Bank’s Kakamega branch started saving as little as Ksh.50 when she got it. Even though the deposits were small, her consistency led her to the big reward of Ksh.1 million, which she plans to sink into expansion of her poultry business and also support her family.
Another winner, Francis Maina is a businessman from Kenol Murang’a, who closed the show by winning the final Ksh.1 million grand prize in the Shinda Millioni campaign. Before winning, Maina had been through quite an unfortunate incident after a fire destroyed his business, and the prize money came in handy to rebuild his life. At first he doubted the news when he received the winning call but he visited an I&M Branch and confirmed. The prize money came through for him as he restarts his business and regains stability. His story is testament to how saving with commitment brings real impact.
I describe myself as a man of faith. When I received the call from the I&M Bank Kenya CEO informing me that I had won, I asked if this was real. It was only when I visited the I&M Bank branch at Kenol that staff confirmed I had indeed won Kshs. 1 million,” he said.
Shinda Millioni also promotes financial literacy by shifting the perception that people have about saving from being a mundane task to a strategy for long term financial growth. Financial literacy ensures that winners are not only beneficiaries financially, but also empowered with knowledge on money management.
