Want To Support A Kenyan In Need? Glovo Will Help You

by Femme Staff

COVID-19 is not only a medical problem but also an economic one and economies the world over have been hit hard. With restricted movements, massive lay-offs by companies that can no longer cope with overheads and collapsing of businesses due to lack of the usual flow of customers, a lot of Kenyan families are hit hard. What makes the picture even grimmer is that there is no clear end of all this in sight.

But we cannot give up. There is really no choice but to soldier on and help one another where we can. The fight against COVID-19 cannot be won by any Government or individual or company on its own and it has been good to see different people and organizations coming together to each chip in with whatever they can.

In its contribution to support Kenyans affected by the pandemic, Glovo, a technology company that links motorcycle riders to consumers wishing to buy and deliver products, has partnered with various organizations in order to enable its users in Kenya to donate via the Glovo app.

If you would like to take part in this noble initiative, click on the Donate COVID-19 bubble on the app and then select the organization you’d like to support through. Partnerships are really coming through to shine a light in the lives of Kenyans in their hour of need and so far Glovo has partnered with Nyama Mama through its Mama to the rescue project and Yoga Heart Kenya through its Viral Kindness Initiative.

Glovo not only commits to remain active during these times but also endeavors to work towards supporting livelihoods of Kenyans affected by COVID-19 in line with all the set guidelines and rules of the government. Walter Mugwe, co-founder of Yoga Heart Kenya for example goes into the community of Kangemi where he grew up with funds raised by Viral Kindness Loresho and buys goods from the local shop-keepers so as not to upset the local businesses.

Whatever little one can do be it in cash or kind is welcome and will go a long way in easing he burden that the pandemic is having on people. We are in this together, and will conquer it together.
