CCI, Gateway, Tatu City Treat Employees And Residents To A Family Festival

More than 10,000 revelers turned up for a fun-filled festival at Tatu City, featuring top Kenyan musical artists Ben Sol, Khaligraph Jones, Nviiri the Storyteller, Fena Gitu, DJ Adrian and Mwalimu Rachel. The event, held for thousands of CCI employees and their friends and family, as well as residents and workers at Tatu City, was one of the largest festivals of the year.

CCI’s contact centre at Tatu City – the largest in the country – is being developed by Gateway Real Estate Africa (GREA). The five-story tower is custom designed for CCI, with training facilities and a career centre to welcome 4,600 employees.

“Today’s festival is our ‘thank you’ to CCI’s talented call centre specialists who serve global brands from Kenya, primarily in the mobile, technology, telecommunications, and financial industry sectors,” said Rishi Jatania, Managing Director of CCI Kenya.

Perminas Marisi, Head of City Management at Tatu City, echoed that the event also “celebrated thousands of families, schools, and businesses that call Tatu City home.”

CCI’s expansion to Tatu City was spurred by global demand for the kind of highly skilled workforce available in Kenya. The shift to Tatu City will have CCI, the largest international contact center provider in Africa, create thousands of jobs in the outbound, inbound, and webchat multi-channel contact centre.

There was everything for everyone at the festival. Starting from the music arena, which buzzed with Kenyan headliners. The kids’ zone was all in a frenzy with children engaging and exploring different activities, such as mega merry-go-rounds and wall climbing.  Attendees were spoilt for the choice of drinks and food, which were available from different mobile units.

Tatu City is Kenya’s first operational Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Businesses registered as SEZ Enterprises enjoy 10% corporate tax rate for 10 years, and a 15% rate for the subsequent 10 years (the standard corporate tax rate is 30%). Additional benefits include zero-rated VAT (a 16% savings), import duty exemptions and low withholding taxes.

At Tatu City, more than 70 businesses are operational or under development, Kenyan and international schools educate 3,000 students daily and 3,000 apartments are occupied or under development.

Eneo at Tatu Central, Tatu City’s first office and retail complex, is the latest in a strategic partnership between GREA and Rendeavour, which spans commercial, warehousing and logistics developments at Rendeavour’s new cities in East and West Africa.
