Standard Chartered Cup Tournament Results

 Diamond Football Club and Swedish School were crowned winners of the Under-18 Boys and Girls respectively at the Standard Chartered Cup 2023, a tournament held in partnership with Diamond FC Club at Rosslyn Academy. The Under 15 boys and girl’s category was won by Ligi Ndogo and Crawford International School respectively.

In the Under-18 category, Diamond Football Club edged out International School of Kenya a goal to nil, while in the girl’s category Swedish School won one goal to nil against International School of Kenya.

The 7-aside tournament consisted of various select group of schools and football academies in the country. They include Ligi Ndogo, Nairobi International School, Swedish School, International School of Kenya, Rosslyn Academy, Oshwal Academy, Crawford International School, Nairobi Jaffrey’s, Diamond Football Club, Rift Valley Academy, Aga Khan, West Nairobi school, Light International and Braeburn School.

Commenting during the tournament, Mr. Paul Njoki, Head of Affluent Banking and Wealth Management in Kenya & East Africa, “The tournament has seen great talent from the boys and girls. As a bank, we are keen on developing football talent within our country and beyond. The partnership with Diamond FC to organize football tournaments will assist the boys and girls achieve their football dreams and we are happy to be walking with them in this sporting journey.”  

The second boys and girl’s tournament involving the Under 11 years and Under 13 categories will be held in May this year.

Diamond Football Club Director Sagar Lakhani said, “The tournament has brought together a select group of schools and football academies from Nairobi. The kids have had a chance to showcase their footballing skills and we are grateful for the bank’s support. Sports is a key aspect in society for kids to get healthy competitive experiences.”
