Carrefour Marks 7 Years Of Operation With The Asante Mara Saba’ Campaign

by Femme Staff

Today marks the 7th anniversary of Carrefour in Kenya, which is owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim. In celebration of this milestone and to express gratitude for nearly a decade of customer loyalty and support, Carrefour is running an exciting ‘Asante Mara Saba!’ campaign. As part of this campaign, over 1,500 lucky Carrefour customers will be pleasantly surprised with a complimentary shopping trolley through a spin-the-wheel lucky draw. This special initiative will take place from 24th May to 6th June across all Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in the country.

At the cashier checkout counters, winners will be chosen randomly. Carrefour colleagues will periodically spin a wheel to determine the counter number, and at those selected counters, they will pay for the lucky customer’s entire shopping bill. There are no restrictions on the amount of the winning transactions, ensuring that all expenses are covered. Each day, there will be 110 fortunate winners.

Christophe Orcet, Regional Director of Carrefour – East Africa, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said, “Since the introduction of our first store in 2016, our business has expanded greatly with a growing customer base, making Carrefour one of the leading retailers in Kenya. The ‘Asante Mara Saba!’ campaign gives us the opportunity to say thank you to Kenya for the successful 7 years and to give back to our customers.”

As part of its anniversary celebrations, customers will also be provided with a chance to delight in daily offers and great discounts on various products including groceries, household items, personal care and hygiene, and electronics, in-store and online via the MAF Carrefour App.

During the last 7 years, Carrefour has continued to improve convenience through online shopping and the launch of Kenya’s first self-checkout service, demonstrating its aim to become the leader in retail innovation and technology. The retailer has become the local partner of choice, creating over 2,000 direct job opportunities and contributing to the economy through its network of 700 local suppliers and partners.

Carrefour remains committed to charitable courses and giving back to the community. Over the years, the retailer has contributed massively towards education, environmental sustainability and other social protection initiatives that have had a massive impact on targeted populations. Under the ‘Round Up Your Bill’ initiative, Carrefour, with the support of its customers, contributed millions of shillings towards the construction of new facilities, renovations, and donations of household items or foodstuff to various schools, and children’s and elderly homes. In February this year, Carrefour donated 8,000 hampers filled with essential food items to 4,000 drought-affected families in Kajiado County in partnership with the Kenya Red Cross.

Carrefour now operates 19 stores countrywide, with 15 located in Nairobi while Kisumu and Mombasa host two stores each. To participate in the anniversary celebrations, customers can visit any Carrefour Kenya store, the MAF Carrefour App or its social media platforms.
