Carrefour CSR Program At County Trackers Elderly Home In Komarock

Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Kenya, has announced that it has donated Ksh. 2 million to support the County Trackers Elderly Home in Komarock.

The KSH 2 million donation by the TRM store, will be used to buy and distribute essential food and non-food items to assist and improve the livelihoods of the over 350 elderly persons, most of whom have no family or relatives.

The supermarket launched the donation drive through under Carrefour’s corporate social responsibility initiative ‘Round Up Your Bill’ with the support of its customers.

Christophe Orcet, Regional Director of Carrefour – East Africa, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, stated: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of all our customers who have passionately supported this initiative. This community-focused project emphasizes our long-term commitment to the health and well-being of the Kenyan community. We remain dedicated to helping those in need during these challenging economic times.”

The donations include food items such as rice, cereals, sugar, oil, flour, and maize meal. They also include basic non-food items including hygiene products including soap, detergents, disinfectants, and toilet paper.

Currently, Carrefour operates 20 stores across the country, with a presence in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
