Keeping Your Immunity In Good Shape

by Femme Staff

A good immunity is one of the most important parts of healthcare. We don’t remind ourselves this often enough until we fall ill and feel like the world is falling apart around us. But many of these ailments that plague us every day can be kept in check if we also keep our immunity in check. Developing and maintaining a good healthy habit requires a determined mind and utmost consistency. What are some of the things that we can do to keep our well being in the best condition we can?

Start your day with a healthy breakfast

This is a mandatory rule. Breakfast does not mean that as long as you have had a cup of tea in the morning this is okay. This should be a sustainable amount of breakfast. A breakfast where you can easily eat a balanced meal at the start of the day. Eating a reasonable amount of breakfast will keep your energy levels good all day. Do not sit back and claim that you don’t have time to sit and have breakfast.  Instead make some deliberate time for it.

Drink more water

Water, and just plain water as it is, is a perfect cleanser. You do not require to have expensively made juice blends to achieve a good cleansing regime. Water does it for you just as well. Drink at least 2 litres of water daily. Good old water helps the body keep vital organs working in good condition, nourishes skin and hair, and is very essential even for muscle function among other many benefits.

Eat your fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other key nutrients required in our daily lives. Add fruits to your breakfast and snacks. Fill half of your plate with vegetables for lunch and dinner. People who eat a lot of fruits and vegetables happen to have lower rates of ill health and their lives are generally more energized.

Walk 10000 steps a day or exercise for at least 1 hour every day

Walking is a good way to cut down your calories. You can choose to walk to or from work daily. You can choose to also park your car far from your destination and walk the extra kilometre. Take advantage of short but very intense work out sessions whenever you can. You can also take the stairs which is actually great exercise, and if you make a habit of it, you will be a far more conditioned person.

Get between 7 to 8 hours of sleep per day

Research has shown that people who get good sleep have better immunity. And some research shows that people who sleep too much also have problems. With this, experts recommend seven to nine hours of sleep to achieve a healthy lifestyle for adults.

Cut your sugar intake

Sugar is associated with great risks of metabolic syndrome such as a larger waist circumference, obesity, higher blood pressure and high cholesterol among many other lifestyle diseases. Sugar can be in the form of soda, processed juice, energy drinks and even sweetened processed tea and artificial sweeteners. You can create a healthy habit from consuming processed sugar by eating fruits and nuts to neutralise your sugar cravings.

Always remember, a healthy happier lifestyle is built on a foundation of healthy habits.
